NatCamp has always held a special place in the hearts of those who have been part of the St John Youth Program. It’s more than just an event—it’s a cherished tradition where youth members and their leaders come together, from all over the country, to celebrate the very essence of the program: first aid, leadership, and a deep sense of community spirit.
This year was no different, yet it carried with it the magic that only Alice Springs could offer, with its breathtaking landscapes and unique atmosphere. For five days in July 2024, the camp brimmed with energy, laughter, and the undeniable bond that forms when young St John members gather. They truly know how to have fun!
But this year’s NatCamp wasn’t just about the present—it gave us a glimpse into the future. The camp marked the soft launch of the Centenary of Youth, stirring a sense of nostalgia and excitement for what lies ahead in 2025. A sneak peek into the celebrations to come was revealed, including the newly designed logo that will soon become a familiar sight as we lead up to this significant milestone.
There was a sense of anticipation in the air as branded cookies were shared and special postcards were handed out, but it was the short video presentation that truly brought it home: one hundred years of youth in St John Australia is something extraordinary. As we look ahead to this significant celebration, there’s a collective call to action: let’s honor this centenary in the way it deserves to be remembered—with heart, spirit, and the same sense of camaraderie that has carried us through decades of service and friendship.
